Mobilize Power Solutions UK, the recently launched provider of turnkey electric vehicle charging infrastructures and services, has appointed two experienced electric vehicle professionals, Ben Grocott and Alistair Decent, to help grow the business.
As a new division in Renault Group, Mobilize Power Solutions was officially launched in June 2021 and is headed up by Managing Director, Mark Dickens. The appointments are part of the business’s expansion plans as it gears up to deliver comprehensive charging infrastructures in the progressive electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle market.
Ben Grocott has been recruited as the UK E-Mobility Manager. He will be working closely with corporate and fleet sales teams within Renault UK and other automotive organisations, enabling them to provide electric vehicle charging solutions to their fleet and business customers. This partnership offers companies an end-to-end electric vehicle proposition from vehicle acquisition through to charging station implementation; back office software and usage monitoring as well as on-going maintenance.
Ben has over nine years experience working in the electric vehicle industry. Starting at Nissan, when it launched the Leaf, Ben led the way educating drivers in the benefits and comforts of owning an electric vehicle. One of his greatest achievements was developing and launching the UK’s first EV Experience Centre in Milton Keynes, which informed and thrilled drivers with first-hand EV driving experiences.
Ben will use this knowledge to help businesses get the most out of owning and managing electric fleets.
“My approach is to fully understand what an organisation needs in an charging infrastructure – whether that is to support its drivers, its customers and its business. In addition I will be helping them to future proof their EV strategy and ensure that they benefit from a low total cost of ownership.”
He adds, “Being part of Renault Group also means that I can draw upon the expertise and resources of one the world’s pioneers in electric vehicles and ensure that electric driving is a reality for every business.”
Mobilize Power Solutions’ fundamental principle is to ensure that the customer enjoys a smooth and stress free transition into electric mobility. Alistair Decent, who joins the company as UK Project Manager, will support this objective.
Alistair comes from a technical and customer service background and has worked in the EV industry for seven years. His career spans a variety of sectors and roles including working in the parking sector, where he oversaw the production of hostile vehicle mitigation equipment, which was used at events such as the 2012 London Olympics and by the new American Embassy, as well as national car parking companies.
More recently, Alistair helped deliver the Amazon logistics fleet electrification project. Working to a tight timeframe and specific budget, he made sure over 900 charging stations were installed during the global pandemic, in time for the Christmas 2020 peak period.
Alistair comments on how this experience will help him in his new role:
“Every customer’s requirements are different and every site can pose various challenges. However I understand the processes involved and the right technology that can provide a tailored solution for every business’s needs.”
“At Mobilize Power Solutions we have the advantage of an agile core team, working with a network of market leading technology, software and energy partners, so that together we can offer a flexible turnkey charging infrastructure solution. What’s more, whilst we have the support from a global automotive brand, Renault Group, we are still able to work across all manufacturer marques and models. This means we can be a one stop shop for businesses that want to truly adopt e-mobility.”
Ben and Alistair will be working with companies across the UK and can develop programmes for businesses of all sizes.
