Why connection will be the new currency in 2025

Warran Brindle - Good Thing's Founder, company director, and creative directorWarran Brindle is the Founder, company director, and creative director at Good Thing. He is also a female founder advocate and brand builder. Here he provides his advice, predictions, and actionable tips to build a brand that truly connects in 2025 and beyond

As we begin a new year, we must acknowledge that the world is shifting toward a deeper desire for meaning, authenticity, and community. That’s why, in 2025, the businesses that will thrive will not just sell products—they will create connections.

To build a brand that resonates, here are the essential, 6 ways to stand out and make an impact:

1. Be human, not perfect

Customers crave authenticity, not polished perfection. Show your business’s real, raw side – the challenges, the lessons, and the people behind it. Vulnerability builds trust, and trust builds loyalty. Forget about being flawless; focus on being real.

2. Stand for something bigger

The future belongs to brands that take a stand. Consumers expect businesses to care about more than profits and they want to see brands tackle social and environmental issues too. Be vocal about your values, make tangible contributions, and align your actions with your purpose. Your stance will be your story to tell, so embrace a storytelling approach and let your public get to know you.

3. Create experiences, not just products

Selling a product isn’t enough anymore. Brands that connect deeply, create experiences around their offerings. Whether it’s storytelling, immersive events, or personalised touchpoints, focus on how your brand makes people feel and remember that connection starts with emotion.

4. Listen first, speak second

The loudest brands won’t win in 2025, but the most attentive ones will. Pay attention to your audience; what are they struggling with? And what do they care about? Build your brand’s messaging and strategy around genuine conversations with your customers. Listening shows you value them and their voice.

5. Embrace radical simplicity

In a world overwhelmed by noise, simplicity will cut through, so streamline your messaging, design, and your customer journey. Make it effortless for people to understand who you are, what you stand for, and how you can help them. Clarity is magnetic.

6. Build a community, not just a customer base

The brands that last will be the ones that create tribes. Don’t treat your customers as transactions; treat them as co-creators. Foster a sense of belonging by engaging your audience, empowering them to connect, and making them feel like they’re part of something meaningful.

The most successful brands of the future won’t just sell—they’ll inspire. They’ll make customers feel seen, heard, and valued. By being bold, human, and purpose-driven, your brand can become a beacon for connection in a disconnected world. The brands that will rise above the noise are the ones that understand: that it’s not about selling more. So if you don’t feel that you are achieving the above, find a partner who understands your vision, who can support and help you on your journey, and become a brand that connects.
