The second of last week’s Great British Expos, South West Expo Bristol, which took place on Friday 26th February 2021, was a roaring success and left audiences inspired.
Speakers ranged from those who built billion-dollar businesses to successful entrepreneurs who started with nothing. They shared stories, advice and guidance on do’s and don’ts in sectors such as social media, marketing and more.
One of the speakers who attended was Andy Smith, who explained the key tips of ‘marketing to win, even during a recession’, and how to balance new and existing clients in regards to marketing formats.
Darren Clark and Kelly Holbrook lifted the veil on social media promotion and how different platforms require different techniques in order to target age and business demographics. They also offered advice on which content works best on certain platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin, and which in-built features work best to increase reach. “Social media marketing is all about provoking engagement.”
Multi-Award-Winning ‘Transformational Leader’ Jacynth Ivey spoke about why self-confidence is important in business, and how she helps corporates create fair and equal working environments. “Stand firm in [your ideals]and don’t let them shake you.”
The event also included a presentation on the new government Kickstart scheme, which benefits young people who are looking for employment. The placements are fully funded for small to medium sized businesses who are willing to provide the training and experience.
Alison Edgar MBE described ‘the art of getting what you want’ through rationalising fear in order to increase confidence, and spoke about her amazing achievements, both personal and professional. “We all have bad moments, but if you find and focus on a positive thing, you will feel more confident.”
